Issue Overview

The primary cause of streaming issues in OBS stems from the recently introduced "Enhanced Broadcasting" feature. When enabled in the OBS > Twitch settings, this function complicates broadcasting on custom platforms such as SOOP. Specifically, with Enhanced Broadcasting active for multitrack video, it restricts the ability to stream to these platforms, often resulting in failed transmissions.

Steps to Resolve the Issue

To resolve this issue and ensure smooth streaming on SOOP, follow these steps:

1)     Open your OBS Settings and navigate to Stream > Service, selecting Twitch.

2)     Click on the ‘Multitrack Video’ option and uncheck the box next to ‘Enable Enhanced Broadcasting.’

3)     Once you’ve turned off Enhanced Broadcasting, return to OBS Settings > Stream > Service and select Custom. Enter the Server and Stream Key for your SOOP channel.

Impact on Twitch Streaming Quality

While disabling Enhanced Broadcasting may raise concerns about stream quality on Twitch, it will not significantly impact the quality of your live stream. However, doing so ensures compatibility with SOOP and other custom platforms. Enhanced Broadcasting function is designed specifically for Twitch and may conflict with streams intended for other services.

Switching Between Platforms

If you plan to switch between Twitch and SOOP frequently, be prepared to toggle the Enhanced Broadcasting feature on or off depending on your intended platform.

Troubleshooting Persistent Issues

If you continue to experience issues even after disabling Enhanced Broadcasting, ensure that your server and stream key details for SOOP are entered correctly. Restarting OBS or checking for updates may also help resolve any lingering problems.
